"Madan Sara"

Translation: Market Woman or Woman Trader

Fun Fact: Madan Sara are the hardworking women at the heart of Haiti’s informal economy. They travel between farms, towns, and markets buying and reselling food and other goods, helping move products across the country. The name comes from the Madansara bird, known for constantly traveling in groups from place to place.
